FAQs

Once the project is scheduled, I’ll send you a link to an online project planner (using Trello), which includes all the information you need to get ready and prepare for your website design project. This includes answering some questions about your business and target audience, and gathering text and image/video content.

Find out more about the process.

WordPress is a Content Management System (CMS) – put simply, this means that the finished product will give you the flexibility to easily update your own website with new content.

WordPress websites are easy to expand and update, they are very SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) friendly, and there are thousands of plugins to give you a wealth of features on your website.

I exclusively design and build websites with the Elementor page builder for WordPress, as it’s a fantastic tool for building custom websites, and gives total control over every aspect of the website design. This means you get exactly what you want from your website – in terms of styles, layouts and features. As your business grows, your website can be easily changed to grow with it, saving you time and money.

Once we’ve set a date to get started on your project, and you’ve agreed our contract, you’ll receive an invoice for your 50% deposit.  When I’ve completed a draft version of the entire website you’ll pay a further 25%, and when the website is complete and ready for launch you’ll pay the remaining 25%. This will all be written out in our contract.

I am not VAT registered so there is no VAT to pay on my prices. This is one of the benefits of hiring a freelancer rather than a big agency!

At the moment I require around 4 weeks notice to book a project, but please get in touch anyway as I may have a space sooner. It’s useful for you to have some time before the project starts to gather the information and content we need to get started on the project.

Absolutely. If you need online booking, an online shop (e-commerce), events calendars or member logins, I can add those. The beauty of using WordPress to build your website is that there are thousands of additional plugins and integrations to give you a wealth of features on your website.

Yes. At the end of each project, I give my clients an image editing guide and custom ‘how to’ video tutorials to empower them to manage and make edits to the website content themselves. You’ll also get 60 days of free support, bug fixes and tweaks after website launch. If you need any further content edits/updates after this time, I’ll be happy to do this for you at my hourly rate of £35. As part of the website maintenance package, I’ll be keeping your website fully updated and in good health.

Yes – I can help design a logo for your business if you don’t have one yet. Sometimes I’ll work with a graphic designer to meet the brief.

Yes – writing copy for your website can be difficult.  If you’re struggling or not sure where to start get in touch and we can chat about my other services.

Absolutely yes! That’s why I’m here to help you. I’ll guide you through the process, which has been designed to be simple and stress-free for you. I’ll explain things clearly without all the jargon, and keep you updated on project progress. At the end of the project you’ll have custom guides and video tutorials to support you (if you want to edit the website yourself), and I’ll be here to offer ongoing support, updates and maintenance.

Yes absolutely. You’ll be able to update the text and images on web pages, add dynamic content from the WordPress dashboard, and add new blog posts. If you’d prefer not to make the updates yourself, I can manage your content for you.

Yes – I provide maintenance and hosting, and can tailor the package to suit your individual needs and budget, from as little as £10 per month for maintenance. I’ll make sure your website stays up-to-date, fully functional and optimised.

When you’re starting a project with me I’ll give you a custom quote for maintenance and hosting as part of your initial project quote.

If you already have a WordPress website and you’re looking for an expert to maintain it for you, please get in touch and request a custom quote for website maintenance.

Absolutely! Once you’ve submitted your design enquiry, I’ll get in touch to arrange a phone call to discuss your project in more detail. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, and for me to get a better understanding of your business and requirements for the website. After our call, I’ll send you a custom proposal with details of website scope, features, and budget.

My website starter package includes the basics for every website project – however no two projects are ever the same, and there are always differences in requirements for a website’s content and functionality. Once we’ve had an initial chat, I’ll set out all the deliverables clearly in a proposal so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting, and for how much.

Website design starts at £850 for a 5 page website. View details of my website starter package to see what’s included and the extra features available.

A website of 5 pages is likely to take 3-4 weeks from start to finish, depending on how quickly you are able to provide me with the content you need.
