Once you’ve submitted your design enquiry, I’ll get in touch to arrange a phone call to discuss your project in more detail. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, and for me to get a better understanding of your business and requirements for the website. After our call, I’ll send you a custom proposal with details of website scope, features, and budget. When you’ve accepted the proposal I’ll send you my contract and deposit invoice so that we can schedule a date to get started on your project.
Once the project is scheduled, I’ll send you a link to an online project planner (using Trello), which includes all the information you need to get ready and prepare for your website design. This includes answering some questions about your business and target audience, and gathering text and image content.
When we’re ready to start the project, we’ll meet to discuss your requirements in much greater detail – looking at your business objectives, your audience and their needs, competitor analysis, website styles and features you like, and a review of your text, image and other media content requirements. If you’ve not already developed a brand identity for your business, we’ll also discuss your style and branding requirements (including a brand personality profiling session). This stage is conducted via face-to-face meetings when possible.
After the consultation session I’ll design your homepage, navigation menu, header and footer, and ask you to review it and provide feedback. Once you’re happy with the design, I’ll build a draft version of the entire website, and allow you to review it. At this stage I’ll also send you an invoice for a further 25% of the project cost. Once you’ve given your feedback on the draft site, I’ll develop the final website and make it ready for launch.
Once you’re happy with the website, and we’re ready for launch, you’ll pay the final 25% of the project cost and the website will be published. Then it’s time to share your shiny new website with your friends and celebrate!
Don’t worry – you’re not on your own! Once the website has launched I’ll be here to provide you with training and support. I’ll send you some custom ‘how to’ videos explaining how to update your website content, so that you’ll be able to make any future edits yourself if you wish to. You’ll also get 60 days of free support, fixes and tweaks after website launch. With my website maintenance service, I’ll be keeping a close eye on the health of your website to keep it running like clockwork.
